Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2012 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included the work A W-Hole House: Roof Top Atrium by Gordon Matta-Clark. It changed hands for a price of USD 28,125.00 (€ 21,617.99) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by Gordon Matta-Clark have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Pier 52 ( # 4) in October 2016 with an auction result of GBP 131,000.00 (€ 145,937.97).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2012 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit A W-Hole House: Roof Top Atrium von Gordon Matta-Clark zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 28.125,00 (€ 21.617,99) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gordon Matta-Clark auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Pier 52 ( # 4) im Oktober 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 131.000,00 (€ 145.937,97).
