Auction result well in line with expectations
The work 2nd Stage Proposals for Antwerp (with Final Plans) by Gordon Matta-Clark was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Phillips in London in June 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 11,250.00 (€ 12,714.42) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gordon Matta-Clark achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pier 52 ( # 4) in October 2016 with an auction result of GBP 131,000.00 (€ 145,937.97).
