Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Frida Kahlo could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in November 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Art Day Auction auction, the work Part Object changed hands for USD 93,750.00 (€ 85,080.32) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frida Kahlo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Diego y yo in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 34,883,000.00 (€ 30,905,466.47).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Frida Kahlo konnte im November 2019 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction wechselte die Arbeit Part Object für USD 93.750,00 (€ 85.080,32) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frida Kahlo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Diego y yo im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 34.883.000,00 (€ 30.905.466,47).
