Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Dos desnudos en el bosque (La tierra misma) by Frida Kahlo was sold in the Impressionist & Modern Art Evening Sale auction at Christies in New York in May 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000,000.00 – 12,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,005,000.00 (€ 7,189,043.56) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Frida Kahlo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Diego y yo in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 34,883,000.00 (€ 30,905,466.47).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Dos desnudos en el bosque (La tierra misma) von Frida Kahlo wurde im Mai 2016 in der Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art Evening Sale bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000.000,00 – 12.000.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 8.005.000,00 (€ 7.189.043,56) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frida Kahlo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Diego y yo im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 34.883.000,00 (€ 30.905.466,47).
