Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Frida Kahlo could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in November 2014 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Latin American Art Modern & Contemporary auction, the work Portrait Of Miriam Penansky changed hands for USD 695,000.00 (€ 558,771.51) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 700,000.00 – 900,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frida Kahlo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Diego y yo in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 34,883,000.00 (€ 30,905,466.47).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Frida Kahlo konnte im November 2014 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Latin American Art Modern & Contemporary wechselte die Arbeit Portrait Of Miriam Penansky für USD 695.000,00 (€ 558.771,51) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 700.000,00 – 900.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frida Kahlo erzielen.
