Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2017 a collector was able to acquire this work without title by Forrest Bess for USD 17,500.00 (€ 16,358.20). This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Curated featuring works from “In Its Own Light: Property from the Collection of Ed Cohen and Victoria Shaw” at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 18,000.00 – 25,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Forrest Bess have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled No. 6 in November 2011 with an auction result of USD 112,900.00 (€ 83,921.80).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März 2017 konnte ein Sammler diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Forrest Bess für USD 17.500,00 (€ 16.358,20) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Contemporary Curated featuring works from “In Its Own Light: Property from the Collection of Ed Cohen and Victoria Shaw” bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 18.000,00 – 25.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Forrest Bess auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled No. 6 im November 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 112.900,00 (€ 83.921,80).
