Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Forrest Bess achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in February 2016. In the Living With Art auction, the work without title sold for USD 17,500.00 (€ 16,102.32) - well above the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Forrest Bess have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled No. 6 in November 2011 with an auction result of USD 112,900.00 (€ 83,921.80).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Forrest Bess erzielte im Februar 2016 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Living With Art wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 17.500,00 (€ 16.102,32) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Forrest Bess auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled No. 6 im November 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 112.900,00 (€ 83.921,80).
