Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Firelei Báez achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2019. In the Contemporary Curated auction, the work Patterns Of Resistance sold for USD 35,000.00 (€ 31,172.07) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Firelei Báez - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Demetrea (from the series Geographic Delay), which sold at auction in May last year for USD 94,500.00 (€ 88,062.62).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Firelei Báez erzielte im März 2019 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Curated wurde die Arbeit Patterns Of Resistance für USD 35.000,00 (€ 31.172,07) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Firelei Báez mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Demetrea (from the series Geographic Delay) beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für USD 94.500,00 (€ 88.062,62) versteigert wurde.
