Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Firelei Báez achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in September 2017. In the New Now auction, the work without title sold for USD 17,500.00 (€ 14,814.19) - well above the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by Firelei Báez have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Demetrea (from the series Geographic Delay) in May last year with an auction result of USD 94,500.00 (€ 88,062.62).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Firelei Báez erzielte im September 2017 bei Phillips in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion New Now wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 17.500,00 (€ 14.814,19) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Firelei Báez auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Demetrea (from the series Geographic Delay) im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 94.500,00 (€ 88.062,62).
