In September 2011 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art, which included the work Untitled (Puzzle Box 3) by Faile. The result of USD 10,000.00 (€ 7,435.50) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Faile have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work New York City 02 in June 2009 with an auction result of GBP 49,250.00 (€ 57,793.22).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im September 2011 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Puzzle Box 3) von Faile zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 7.435,50) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Faile auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit New York City 02 im Juni 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 49.250,00 (€ 57.793,22).
