Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Military Death by Faile was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 4,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 2,500.00 (€ 2,935.61). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Faile achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work New York City 02 in June 2009 with an auction result of GBP 49,250.00 (€ 57,793.22).
