Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2015 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included this untitled work by Christopher Wilmarth. It changed hands for a price of USD 75,000.00 (€ 71,009.28) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Christopher Wilmarth - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Street Leaf #4, which sold at auction in November 2007 for USD 229,000.00 (€ 155,909.59).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2015 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Christopher Wilmarth zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 75.000,00 (€ 71.009,28) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Christopher Wilmarth mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Street Leaf #4 beobachtet, die im November 2007 für USD 229.000,00 (€ 155.909,59) versteigert wurde.
