In May 2008 Phillips in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Part II, which included the work Opening Out by Anna Gaskell. The result of USD 10,000.00 (€ 6,426.74) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Anna Gaskell have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled #5 (Wonder Series) in May 2003 with an auction result of USD 33,460.00 (€ 28,437.87).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Mai 2008 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Part II durch, in der auch die Arbeit Opening Out von Anna Gaskell zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 6.426,74) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Anna Gaskell auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled #5 (Wonder Series) im Mai 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 33.460,00 (€ 28.437,87).
