Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Alfonso Ossorio could be acquired at Christies in New York in November this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work Heart's Hope (Ship of State) changed hands for USD 88,200.00 (€ 80,858.09) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Admittedly, works by Alfonso Ossorio have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Nevertheless in May last year with an auction result of USD 604,800.00 (€ 563,600.78).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Alfonso Ossorio konnte im November diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale wechselte die Arbeit Heart's Hope (Ship of State) für USD 88.200,00 (€ 80.858,09) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alfonso Ossorio auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Nevertheless im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 604.800,00 (€ 563.600,78).
