Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Alfonso Ossorio achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Paris in June 2021. In the Art Contemporain Day Sale auction, the work Cyclops sold for EUR 23,940.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alfonso Ossorio achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nevertheless in May last year with an auction result of USD 604,800.00 (€ 563,600.78).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Alfonso Ossorio erzielte im Juni 2021 bei Sothebys in Paris einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Art Contemporain Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Cyclops für EUR 23.940,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alfonso Ossorio erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nevertheless im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 604.800,00 (€ 563.600,78).
