woodcut, etching, aquatint, relief and knotting with collage in colors, 1984, on heavy hand-made paper, signed, dated and titled in pencil, numbered 11/46 (there were also 17 artist's proofs), with the Tyler Graphics, Ltd. blindstamp, Mount Kisco, New York, apparently in excellent condition, not examined out of the frame, and HOME ROUTE (T. 515)--relief screenprint, stitching and collage in colors, 1985, on heavy hand-made paper, signed and dated in pencil, numbered 2/20 (there were also 8 artist's proofs), published by Tyler Graphics, Ltd., Mount Kisco, New York, the full sheet, apparently in excellent condition, not examined out of the frame

Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Alan Shields could be acquired at Christies in New York in February 2004 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Prints and Multiples auction, the work Gas-Up (Tyler 507) changed hands for USD 956.00 (€ 768.43) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alan Shields achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 3, 4, 5, 6 Preponderus Chool in September last year with an auction result of USD 37,800.00 (€ 38,638.45).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Alan Shields konnte im Februar 2004 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Prints and Multiples wechselte die Arbeit Gas-Up (Tyler 507) für USD 956,00 (€ 768,43) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alan Shields erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 3, 4, 5, 6 Preponderus Chool im September letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 37.800,00 (€ 38.638,45).
