This artwork by Alan Shields achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in July 2020. In the Editions & Works on Paper auction, the work Detroit sold for USD 3,750.00 (€ 3,184.98) - well above the upper estimate of USD 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alan Shields achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 3, 4, 5, 6 Preponderus Chool in September last year with an auction result of USD 37,800.00 (€ 38,638.45).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 88 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Alan Shields erzielte im Juli 2020 bei Phillips in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Editions & Works on Paper wurde die Arbeit Detroit für USD 3.750,00 (€ 3.184,98) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alan Shields erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 3, 4, 5, 6 Preponderus Chool im September letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 37.800,00 (€ 38.638,45).
