Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Alan Shields could be acquired at Phillips in 6 - in September this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Editions & Works on Paper: Online Auction auction, the work Synchromesh, from Soft and Fluffy Gears changed hands for USD 191.00 (€ 180.46) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,000.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alan Shields achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 3, 4, 5, 6 Preponderus Chool in September last year with an auction result of USD 37,800.00 (€ 38,638.45).
