In November 2009 Phillips in New York held the auction Modern and Contmporary Editions, which included the work Map Projection: The Snail; Probabilty Pyramid I and II by Agnes Denes. The »bidding war« ended at USD 3,125.00 (€ 2,084.17), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Agnes Denes - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Study of Distortions - Isometric Systems in Isotropic Space, which sold at auction in October 2020 for USD 8,125.00 (€ 6,976.05).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im November 2009 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Modern and Contmporary Editions durch, in der auch die Arbeit Map Projection: The Snail; Probabilty Pyramid I and II von Agnes Denes zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 3.125,00 (€ 2.084,17) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Agnes Denes mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Study of Distortions - Isometric Systems in Isotropic Space beobachtet, die im Oktober 2020 für USD 8.125,00 (€ 6.976,05) versteigert wurde.
