Auction result misses estimated price range
In April last year a collector was able to acquire the work Fly Fishing, Saranac Lake (Goodrich 105) by Winslow Homer for USD 12,600.00 (€ 11,957.86). This price was achieved in the auction Prints & Multiples at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Winslow Homer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Where are the Boats? in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 4,572,500.00 (€ 3,918,166.24).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im April letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Fly Fishing, Saranac Lake (Goodrich 105) von Winslow Homer für USD 12.600,00 (€ 11.957,86) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Prints & Multiples bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Winslow Homer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Where are the Boats? im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.572.500,00 (€ 3.918.166,24).
