Auction result well in line with expectations
In January this year Christies in New York held the auction 19th Century American Art, which included the work Fallen Tree with Minks by Winslow Homer. It changed hands for a price of USD 277,200.00 (€ 255,295.63) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Winslow Homer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Where are the Boats? in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 4,572,500.00 (€ 3,918,166.24).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion 19th Century American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Fallen Tree with Minks von Winslow Homer zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 277.200,00 (€ 255.295,63) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Winslow Homer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Where are the Boats? im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.572.500,00 (€ 3.918.166,24).
