Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Autumn Trees by Winslow Homer was sold in the The American Scene including Important Photographs from the Helene Wurlitzer Foundation auction at Sothebys in New York in May last year. The price achieved of USD 138,600.00 (€ 129,158.51) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 120,000.00 – 180,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Winslow Homer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Where are the Boats? in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 4,572,500.00 (€ 3,918,166.24).
