Sold at the lower estimate price
The work Steam'n Hot by Willie Cole was auctioned at Phillips in New York in April 2013. The result of USD 2,500.00 (€ 1,898.54) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Willie Cole - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Gas Snake (G), which sold at auction in September 2010 for USD 8,750.00 (€ 6,433.35).

Die Arbeit Steam'n Hot von Willie Cole kam im April 2013 bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 2.500,00 (€ 1.898,54) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.500,00 – 3.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Willie Cole mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Gas Snake (G) beobachtet, die im September 2010 für USD 8.750,00 (€ 6.433,35) versteigert wurde.
