Auction result well in line with expectations
The work American Domestic by Willie Cole was sold in the Evening & Day Editions auction at Phillips in New York in October 2019. The price achieved of USD 2,500.00 (€ 2,241.15) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Willie Cole - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Gas Snake (G), which sold at auction in September 2010 for USD 8,750.00 (€ 6,433.35).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 2.500,00 (€ 2.241,15) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Willie Cole mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Gas Snake (G) beobachtet, die im September 2010 für USD 8.750,00 (€ 6.433,35) versteigert wurde.
