In April 2013 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction The Piet and Ida Sanders Collection, which included the work Untitled (chicken) by Willie Cole. The result of EUR 2,500.00 was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of EUR 2,500.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Willie Cole - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Gas Snake (G), which sold at auction in September 2010 for USD 8,750.00 (€ 6,433.35).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im April 2013 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion The Piet and Ida Sanders Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (chicken) von Willie Cole zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von EUR 2.500,00 entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 2.500,00 – 3.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Willie Cole mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Gas Snake (G) beobachtet, die im September 2010 für USD 8.750,00 (€ 6.433,35) versteigert wurde.
