This artwork by William Villalongo achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in May 2018. In the Contemporary Art Day Auction auction, the work Psyche sold for USD 21,250.00 (€ 18,209.08) - well above the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00. This high result makes Psyche the most expensive artwork by William Villalongo that we have observed at auctions so far.
