Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2010 Phillips in New York held the auction AFRICA Theme Sale, which included the work Golden Lady by William Villalongo. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 12,500.00 (€ 10,105.91) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by William Villalongo have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May 2018 the work Psyche was auctioned for USD 21,250.00 (€ 18,209.08).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2010 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion AFRICA Theme Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Golden Lady von William Villalongo zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 12.500,00 (€ 10.105,91) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von William Villalongo konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Mai 2018 die Arbeit Psyche für USD 21.250,00 (€ 18.209,08) versteigert.
