Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Black People... (Six Works) by William Pope.L was auctioned at Christies in New York in September 2016. The price achieved of USD 12,500.00 (€ 11,122.98) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Pope.L - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Eight works: (i) White People are the Beef of the Fire; (ii) White People are Hoi Vuc Vietnam 1965; (iii) White People are my Tears; (iv) Black People are a positive cancer; (v) White People are nice to their I, which sold at auction in April 2017 for GBP 21,875.00 (€ 25,976.94).
