The »bidding war« ended at USD 10,160.00 (€ 9,202.90), 27% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Pope.L - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Eight works: (i) White People are the Beef of the Fire; (ii) White People are Hoi Vuc Vietnam 1965; (iii) White People are my Tears; (iv) Black People are a positive cancer; (v) White People are nice to their I, which sold at auction in April 2017 for GBP 21,875.00 (€ 25,976.94).

Die Arbeit Gray People Fink Sunshine von William Pope.L wurde im April diesen Jahres in der Auktion Editions & Works on Paper bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 10.160,00 (€ 9.202,90) und damit 27% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von William Pope.L mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Eight works: (i) White People are the Beef of the Fire; (ii) White People are Hoi Vuc Vietnam 1965; (iii) White People are my Tears; (iv) Black People are a positive cancer; (v) White People are nice to their I beobachtet, die im April 2017 für GBP 21.875,00 (€ 25.976,94) versteigert wurde.
