Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Three works: (i) White People are the Whale; (ii) Green People Don't Care What Color They Are As Long As They Get It for Free; (iii) White People are Ass by William Pope.L was auctioned at Phillips in New York in March this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 10,160.00 (€ 9,345.11) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Pope.L - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Eight works: (i) White People are the Beef of the Fire; (ii) White People are Hoi Vuc Vietnam 1965; (iii) White People are my Tears; (iv) Black People are a positive cancer; (v) White People are nice to their I, which sold at auction in April 2017 for GBP 21,875.00 (€ 25,976.94).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Three works: (i) White People are the Whale; (ii) Green People Don't Care What Color They Are As Long As They Get It for Free; (iii) White People are Ass von William Pope.L kam im März diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 10.160,00 (€ 9.345,11) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von William Pope.L mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Eight works: (i) White People are the Beef of the Fire; (ii) White People are Hoi Vuc Vietnam 1965; (iii) White People are my Tears; (iv) Black People are a positive cancer; (v) White People are nice to their I beobachtet, die im April 2017 für GBP 21.875,00 (€ 25.976,94) versteigert wurde.
