Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Howl by Wangechi Mutu was auctioned at Phillips in New York in October 2021. Here, the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 5,292.00 (€ 4,581.02). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wangechi Mutu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Little Thought for All Ya'll Who're Thinking of Beating Around the Bush in February 2008 with an auction result of GBP 204,500.00 (€ 267,477.97).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Howl von Wangechi Mutu kam im Oktober 2021 bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 5.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 5.292,00 (€ 4.581,02) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wangechi Mutu erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Little Thought for All Ya'll Who're Thinking of Beating Around the Bush im Februar 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 204.500,00 (€ 267.477,97).
