Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In September last year Phillips in New York held the auction New Now, which included the work Death by Mariposa by Wangechi Mutu. Here, the upper estimate of USD 22,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 25,200.00 (€ 25,758.97). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wangechi Mutu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Little Thought for All Ya'll Who're Thinking of Beating Around the Bush in February 2008 with an auction result of GBP 204,500.00 (€ 267,477.97).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im September letzten Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion New Now durch, in der auch die Arbeit Death by Mariposa von Wangechi Mutu zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 22.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 25.200,00 (€ 25.758,97) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wangechi Mutu erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Little Thought for All Ya'll Who're Thinking of Beating Around the Bush im Februar 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 204.500,00 (€ 267.477,97).
