Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2016 Christies in New York held the auction Prints & Multiples featuring The Gilbert E. Kaplan Collection of Surrealist Prints, which included this untitled work by Toyen. It changed hands for a price of USD 1,875.00 (€ 1,772.55) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Toyen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tu t'évapores dans un buisson de cris in October this year with an auction result of EUR 2,823,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2016 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Prints & Multiples featuring The Gilbert E. Kaplan Collection of Surrealist Prints durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Toyen zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 1.875,00 (€ 1.772,55) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Toyen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Tu t'évapores dans un buisson de cris im Oktober diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 2.823.000,00.
