Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Theo van Doesburg achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in May 2011. In the Impressionist and Modern Art auction, the work Stained-Glass Composition VIII sold for EUR 16,250.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Theo van Doesburg achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Contra-Composition Vii in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 4,184,000.00 (€ 3,110,086.97).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Theo van Doesburg erzielte im Mai 2011 bei Christies in Amsterdam einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Impressionist and Modern Art wurde die Arbeit Stained-Glass Composition VIII für EUR 16.250,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Theo van Doesburg erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Contra-Composition Vii im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.184.000,00 (€ 3.110.086,97).
