Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Contra-Composition Vii by Theo van Doesburg was sold in the Impressionist & Modern Art Evening Sale auction at Sothebys in London in March 2017. The price achieved of GBP 1,568,750.00 (€ 1,838,420.15) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,200,000.00 – 1,800,000.00. Other works by Theo van Doesburg have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May 2007 the work Contra-Composition Vii was auctioned for USD 4,184,000.00 (€ 3,110,086.97).
