Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2017 a collector was able to acquire this work without title by Theo van Doesburg for EUR 43,750.00. This price was achieved in the auction Collection Arthur Brandt : Dada, Surréalisme et au-delà at Sothebys in Paris and was even below the estimate range of EUR 50,000.00 – 70,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Theo van Doesburg achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Contra-Composition Vii in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 4,184,000.00 (€ 3,110,086.97).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2017 konnte ein Sammler diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Theo van Doesburg für EUR 43.750,00 erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Collection Arthur Brandt : Dada, Surréalisme et au-delà bei Sothebys in Paris erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 50.000,00 – 70.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Theo van Doesburg erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Contra-Composition Vii im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.184.000,00 (€ 3.110.086,97).
