This work without title by Theo van Doesburg was sold in the Impressionist & Modern Art auction at Sothebys in New York in October 2020. The »bidding war« ended at USD 30,240.00 (€ 25,963.77), 68% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Theo van Doesburg achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Contra-Composition Vii in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 4,184,000.00 (€ 3,110,086.97).

Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Theo van Doesburg wurde im Oktober 2020 in der Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 30.240,00 (€ 25.963,77) und damit 68% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Theo van Doesburg erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Contra-Composition Vii im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.184.000,00 (€ 3.110.086,97).
