Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Contra-Composition by Theo van Doesburg was auctioned at Christies in Paris in October 2021. It changed hands for a price of EUR 1,700,000.00 achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of EUR 1,400,000.00 – 1,800,000.00. Other works by Theo van Doesburg have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May 2007 the work Contra-Composition Vii was auctioned for USD 4,184,000.00 (€ 3,110,086.97).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Contra-Composition von Theo van Doesburg kam im Oktober 2021 bei Christies in Paris zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von EUR 1.700.000,00 den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 1.400.000,00 – 1.800.000,00. Andere Arbeiten von Theo van Doesburg konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Mai 2007 die Arbeit Contra-Composition Vii für USD 4.184.000,00 (€ 3.110.086,97) versteigert.
