Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Composition (Seated Figure) by Theo van Doesburg was auctioned at Phillips in New York in November this year. The price achieved of USD 1,016,000.00 (€ 931,426.48) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 900,000.00 – 1,200,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Theo van Doesburg - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Contra-Composition Vii, which sold at auction in May 2007 for USD 4,184,000.00 (€ 3,110,086.97).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Composition (Seated Figure) von Theo van Doesburg kam im November diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 1.016.000,00 (€ 931.426,48) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 900.000,00 – 1.200.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Theo van Doesburg mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Contra-Composition Vii beobachtet, die im Mai 2007 für USD 4.184.000,00 (€ 3.110.086,97) versteigert wurde.
