Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Stained-Glass Composition VIII by Theo van Doesburg was auctioned at Christies in London in June 2019. The price achieved of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 16,862.22) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Theo van Doesburg achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Contra-Composition Vii in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 4,184,000.00 (€ 3,110,086.97).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Stained-Glass Composition VIII von Theo van Doesburg kam im Juni 2019 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 15.000,00 (€ 16.862,22) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Theo van Doesburg erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Contra-Composition Vii im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.184.000,00 (€ 3.110.086,97).
