The work Duchamp Wanted by Elaine Sturtevant was sold in the Prints & Multiples Summer Splash auction at Bonhams in New York in August last year. It achieved a price of USD 4,845.00 (€ 4,813.71), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 38%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Elaine Sturtevant achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Warhol Diptych in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 5,093,000.00 (€ 4,632,526.83).

Die Arbeit Duchamp Wanted von Elaine Sturtevant wurde im August letzten Jahres in der Auktion Prints & Multiples Summer Splash bei Bonhams in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 4.845,00 (€ 4.813,71) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 38%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Elaine Sturtevant erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Warhol Diptych im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.093.000,00 (€ 4.632.526,83).
