This artwork by Elizabeth Strong-Cuevas achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March 2017. In the Post-War and Contemporary Art auction, the work Petals Two sold for USD 56,250.00 (€ 52,579.92) - well above the upper estimate of USD 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Elizabeth Strong-Cuevas - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Othello, which sold at auction in May 2018 for USD 137,500.00 (€ 117,823.48).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Elizabeth Strong-Cuevas erzielte im März 2017 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Petals Two für USD 56.250,00 (€ 52.579,92) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 30.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Elizabeth Strong-Cuevas mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Othello beobachtet, die im Mai 2018 für USD 137.500,00 (€ 117.823,48) versteigert wurde.
