Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November last year Bonhams in New York held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art, which included the work Two Make Three by Elizabeth Strong-Cuevas. Here, the upper estimate of USD 18,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 20,400.00 (€ 19,761.70). Admittedly, works by Elizabeth Strong-Cuevas have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Othello in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 137,500.00 (€ 117,823.48).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Two Make Three von Elizabeth Strong-Cuevas zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 18.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 20.400,00 (€ 19.761,70) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Elizabeth Strong-Cuevas auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Othello im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 137.500,00 (€ 117.823,48).
