Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Theory & Observation by Slater Bradley was auctioned at Phillips in New York in November 2011, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 7,500.00 (€ 5,574.96). Admittedly, works by Slater Bradley have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ladies and Gentlemen We are Floating in Space (02) in May 2012 with an auction result of USD 32,500.00 (€ 26,285.99).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Theory & Observation von Slater Bradley im November 2011 bei Phillips in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 7.500,00 (€ 5.574,96) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Slater Bradley auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ladies and Gentlemen We are Floating in Space (02) im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 32.500,00 (€ 26.285,99).
