Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2008 Christies in London held the auction Prints & Multiples, which included the work Rabindranath Tagore (Campbell and Dodgson 371) by David Muirhead Bone. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 312.50 (€ 395.01) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Muirhead Bone achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Soho Square, London in June 2001 with an auction result of GBP 5,287.50 (€ 8,783.59).
