Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included the work Untitled (S.853, Hanging Five-Lobed, Three Part, Discontinuous Surface With Asymmetrical And Symmetrical Lobes) by Ruth Asawa. The price achieved of USD 2,660,000.00 (€ 2,368,444.48) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,000,000.00 – 3,000,000.00. Other works by Ruth Asawa have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in November 2019 the work Untitled (S.387, Hanging Three Separate Layers of Three-Lobed Forms) was auctioned for USD 4,095,000.00 (€ 3,716,308.19).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (S.853, Hanging Five-Lobed, Three Part, Discontinuous Surface With Asymmetrical And Symmetrical Lobes) von Ruth Asawa zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 2.660.000,00 (€ 2.368.444,48) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 2.000.000,00 – 3.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Andere Arbeiten von Ruth Asawa konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im November 2019 die Arbeit Untitled (S.387, Hanging Three Separate Layers of Three-Lobed Forms) für USD 4.095.000,00 (€ 3.716.308,19) versteigert.
