Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included the work Untitled (S.853, Hanging Five-Lobed, Three Part, Discontinuous Surface With Asymmetrical And Symmetrical Lobes) by Ruth Asawa. The price achieved of USD 2,660,000.00 (€ 2,368,444.48) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,000,000.00 – 3,000,000.00. Other works by Ruth Asawa have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in November 2019 the work Untitled (S.387, Hanging Three Separate Layers of Three-Lobed Forms) was auctioned for USD 4,095,000.00 (€ 3,716,308.19).
