The »bidding war« ended at USD 1,980,000.00 (€ 1,845,121.61), 65% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ruth Asawa - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (S.387, Hanging Three Separate Layers of Three-Lobed Forms), which sold at auction in November 2019 for USD 4,095,000.00 (€ 3,716,308.19).
