Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (SF.005, Undulating Parallelograms with White "3" in Lower Right Corner) by Ruth Asawa was sold in the Post-War & Contemporary Art auction at Bonhams in New York in November last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 107,475.00 (€ 104,112.18) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ruth Asawa achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (S.387, Hanging Three Separate Layers of Three-Lobed Forms) in November 2019 with an auction result of USD 4,095,000.00 (€ 3,716,308.19).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (SF.005, Undulating Parallelograms with White "3" in Lower Right Corner) von Ruth Asawa wurde im November letzten Jahres in der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art bei Bonhams in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 107.475,00 (€ 104.112,18) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ruth Asawa erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (S.387, Hanging Three Separate Layers of Three-Lobed Forms) im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.095.000,00 (€ 3.716.308,19).
