The work Poppy by Ruth Asawa was worth USD 7,650.00 (€ 7,036.42) to a buyer in March this year. This price was achieved in the auction Prints & Multiples at Bonhams and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 1,500.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ruth Asawa achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (S.387, Hanging Three Separate Layers of Three-Lobed Forms) in November 2019 with an auction result of USD 4,095,000.00 (€ 3,716,308.19).

Die Arbeit Poppy von Ruth Asawa war einem Käufer im März diesen Jahres USD 7.650,00 (€ 7.036,42) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Prints & Multiples bei Bonhams erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von USD 1.500,00 um ein Vielfaches. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ruth Asawa erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (S.387, Hanging Three Separate Layers of Three-Lobed Forms) im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.095.000,00 (€ 3.716.308,19).
