Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2021 Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art, which included the work Untitled (S.788, Hanging Sphere), circa 1960-1969 by Ruth Asawa. The price achieved of USD 47,812.50 (€ 39,537.34) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 35,000.00 – 55,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ruth Asawa achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (S.387, Hanging Three Separate Layers of Three-Lobed Forms) in November 2019 with an auction result of USD 4,095,000.00 (€ 3,716,308.19).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Februar 2021 führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (S.788, Hanging Sphere), circa 1960-1969 von Ruth Asawa zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 47.812,50 (€ 39.537,34) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 35.000,00 – 55.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ruth Asawa erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (S.387, Hanging Three Separate Layers of Three-Lobed Forms) im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.095.000,00 (€ 3.716.308,19).
